I'd like to see the picture released if only because I think that option will shut the most people up, and because I'm interested in seeing it, call it morbid curiousity

Everything we do or do not do can be construed as either encouraging attacks on us or creating more motive for attacks on us, so I quit taking that into consideration.

Probably air soft, or perhaps a real rifle with airsoft parts.

Looks almost like a QBZ forearm glued to a galil, with a ******* dust cover scope mount and cheap chinese scope.

QBZ forearm is almost certainly an airsoft part, and the galil looks awfully plastic too.

To me, the real story is Obama's dithering and drama on whether to release them or not. In regard to the actual operation that resulted in the Kodak moment, I think I read that the SEAL team practiced for something like seven months. But this last minute indecision on the part of Obama seems to show that he and his crack team of experts and intellectuals did little or nothing to be sure they were prepared to deal with much of anything likely to come up after the deed was done.

This is actually part of his strategy.

I had considered that possibility also. But, since I dislike him so much, I decided to throw out the other first.

I mean seriously, they do this on everything. Especially on issues like this that are, let's face facts, relatively meaningless.

Panetta: we will release the pictures
White house: no we won't
Internet cloud: hey, look, here's the pictures
Internet cloud: sorry, those were fake
Senators: we've seen em and they are ugly, you can't handle it
White house: nope, not gonna show em
Internet cloud: hey look, here's the takedown video
Internet cloud: sorry, that was a virus
White house: well
White house: maybe we'll show you pictures of the guards
Media: Senators were fooled by fake pictures
Internet cloud: hey, look, here's the real pictures
Internet cloud: sorry, those were fake
White house: nope, not gonna show you

Donald Trump or some other false opposition stooge in 3... 2... 1....

I was told – in these exact terms, “we overruled him.” (Obama) I have since followed up and received further details on exactly what that meant, as well as the specifics of how Leon Panetta worked around the president’s “persistent hesitation to act.” There appears NOT to have been an outright overruling of any specific position by President Obama, simply because there was no specific position from the president to do so. President Obama was, in this case, as in all others, working as an absentee president.
