I have no data other than anecdotal to base this commentary...but...

It seems that group dynamics are such that when a diverse group has a common goal (in our case initial passage of the MCPPA), the group all rows in unison.

Once the goal is achieved or lost (perhaps in this case the most recent legislative issues), people in the group begin to drift apart, no longer work together, find scapegoats, start an "us vs. them" attitude and we all get stained by the dripping piss.

Joel whether by design, pique, illness etc....succeeded in driving a wedge between many good folks. I fear this drifting apart will be very difficult to bring together until the next big crisis where we all again must row in unison or drown.

I know that at times I am remiss in remembering we are (should be) in the same boat.

With all due respect to Joel and his family, I am a little bit bummed that there won't be closure to the City Hall CCW issue. I do not know if it was intentional on his part to be the "test case" but it at least seemed to me that Joel was a staunch and outspoken supporter of our 2A rights. I don't know that he would necessarily have been the best "test" candidate, but props to the man for taking a stand and never straying from it.

I did not know him as well as many of you did, but in as much as I did know him, I have no beef with him or his family. I wish them well, and they are in my thoughts and prayers.

#1 We haven't received a definitive court precedent against us. So we haven't technically lost... yet.
#2 We now know the government's plan of prosecution.

Yeah it is funny to watch the in fighting one man caused in while walking this earth, and then after he has departed this earth. But, nonetheless one has to really think over the years the crap he has pulled, the alienation he has caused, and how vindictive the man was will be his legacy and nothing more. This is not recent change, it was direction he followed.

If, as some suggest, this change in behavior was medically induced, then he sure as had no business carrying a firearm or other dangerous weapon if he was not of the right mind. That would be worse then being under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

Some want to pull the wool over their eyes even with his death. But, in reality who are you kidding by doing such stuff? Some will castigate others about their remarks, but well then those are rebuking that poster are off their mark, IMHO. We share the right to have differing view points. But, if you were not targeted by the deceased you should feel lucky, or that your number had not come up in his sights, yet. For those that did incure his muck raking: they know full well that this went on for more then the last 24 months. This dates back further from information gathered. A person who did not walk in shoes of the "targeted" should back off, as they have no bone in that in that discussion at all. The hurt that the deceased caused still lives in the lives that he posted personal information about, mocked in more ways for others, and made fun of chosen occupations and professiosns. In my book you take care of living, cause there is no hope for the dead. And, if the living want to vent well so be it! I view it as grieving process for them.

But, when some of take on the same quality as the deceased in making fun of others professions.....well perhaps self-aggrandizing is your forte'? But, there are very few people in this world that can actually say that they have saved a person's life with their particular set of skills. And, in my estimation if those that have those skills to work under gun in the gravest extreme extoll that competence you had better step and thank them. Cause, very few people are that talented...... and you want them on your side when time comes.

We would have to employ three more mods for this and then they would all have to agree that this is the direction the forum wants to go. Then one would move the post and the other 100 posting members would throw a bitch fit, at least one person on the forum would announce they quit (only to come back a short time later), and it would be the "Great Forum War '11", then after this thread was locked I would start another one with the same title, and then to restore order they would have to make me a Mod, because I would just tell everyone to shut the **** up and deal with your real life and I will handle the seriousness of the interweb and MGT, because I can keep this **** real like a mother **** and the over 6300 posts proves it.

Everybody sit back and do whatever the hell it is you do and leave the mods to do what ever the hell it is they do. If some would notice not many mods post or probably log in much because of all the geniuses that feel they need to share there **** profound wisdom with the mods about how to make this place "better".

People have differing views on things you are right they are wrong and the mods probably dont give a **** what you think they should do. If you dont like the direction of the forum either stay and post (and others will move on, like the mods seem to have done) or move the **** on. Its really that simple.
