The Garands have been freed! (but the carbines are still too evil)

Cool! Thanks, Obama!

I'm happy yet sad at the same time. It would have been nice to see these go through the CMP rather than through importers. Maybe they will bring the carbines back through the CMP? One can only dream...

The CMP didn't want these. One of their Executives, Orest Michaels, has repeatedly stated on the CMP's forums that the CMP didn't want these due to their condition.

Sad part is that they'll all be import marked now too...still don't get why a carbine chambered in a pistol power round is somehow worse than a full up battle rifle....

I think he initially nixed the deal when Holder mentioned that it would be a twofer to sell them to Mexican drug cartels. That is, until the whole Fast and Furious thing blew up in his face. Now, he's going to throw a bone shiny object out in front of the 2A crowd and hope to distract them, at least thru the next election.

To explain the flip-flop, a State Department spokesman said the administration’s decision was based on concerns that the guns could fall into the wrong hands.

Ugh, huh. Keep spinning Barry.

our quarrel is not about the value of freedom per se, but stems from our opinion of our fellow men … a man’s admiration of absolute government is proportionate to the contempt he feels for those around him --Alexis de Tocqueville--

Wow!!! She's a genius. Let's write a gun control law and not have a clue what's on a gun. That seals it!!! With the laws and lawmakers they have I'm moving to new you.
