An unarmed teenager with his whole life ahead of him has been killed. Obviously there is a problem! ...or at least that seems to be the big contention a lot of people can't get over.

I think the media and establishment may be trying to provoke riots with their coverage of this event. The only reason to do such a thing would be to build political momentum against gun rights, and as we see in this thread out own members are even jumping on the bandwagon due to media coverage alone. We see black on black violence so often these days with muted outrage from their communities. But the moment a somewhat white looking man (a register democrat even) uses violence, maybe even lawfully to defend his own life, the whole country is outraged at the white conservative gun owner. The propaganda machine is in full swing here and we have no one to thank for it but the media. There is sinister political intent behind the news coverage. If the momentum continues to build the sky is the limit.

Remember the James Bond film about that. Ian Fleming may not have been very far from reality with the idea that media could precipitate such events. News media has been taking their cues from the sensationalist news sells a bit too far, however, they need to reign themselves in as any laws passed to reign in the news media would also scream of censorship and government control.

I took a moment from my classwork to find something worth reading on my favorite website, and get sucked into reading 24 pages of of beating a horse. Not just any old horse, just bones and decayed skin, turning to dust.. Along with my mind of course, I feel smarter reading about each side on the debate.

I do think I'll avoid this thread from now on, as I believe "Armchair Quarterbacks" have very little right to say they "could've done better". Quite simply, none of us were there, yet everybody chooses to throw a stone.

Anyway, glad to see everyone is doing well, back to lurking.

Even the former NAACP Leader is stepping up - stating that this is a shame the way this is being handled by the "Community Leaders"

Dancing in the blood of this kid to make political hay is just inciting further issues.
