I mean, there's no possibility at all that in fact we were wrong, because we still don't know what the actual evidence is, nor what the process was by which the prosecutor reached his decision so it must be a conspiracy to railroad Mr. Treptow. That's the only logical conclusion that fair-minded realists like us can reach.

That's not what I said.

I didn't say it was.

And we never will because the Grand Jury proceedings were secret. And despite the fact that a dozen or so law abiding peers of Beard thought he should be charged, one government special person has decided that those folks were misguided and that another government special person should walk free without a public hearing of the evidence.

And right there you have screwed yourself out of any chance of not getting proscecuted :o :o The law does say that you have a duty to retreat /escape from the situation where possible instead of using deadly force :o

So then you have had the chance to escape and get yourself out of harms way. And believe me, if i had my wife and child in the vehicle my first objective would be to leave the area and get my wife and child out of harms way as my vehicle is not Armoured and has no protections against bullets.

But i guess the training he must have had must have been the same the Officers under him had at Wolf :o And believe me they dont have a very good reputation as it goes for armed security companies, and the last employer you want on your resume is them :o

Oops, typo. Sorry, fixed it.

And that is exactly the same as the procedure for anyone else; or are you suggesting that because Mr. Beard is a Police Officer, he should have been treated differently to you or any other member of society?

Nor do you or I know whether it was a unanimous or split decision by the GJ so neither of us is qualified to comment on their deliberations or decisions.

Come on people, you can't complain on one hand that Police Officers get special treatment with respect to other people, and then complain when they get treated the same as everyone else, but should (in this case, because it's somehow special) have been treated differently because they are cops.

Ummm... YES! Police need to be held to a higher standard.

And we never will. But a neighboring government employee has been able to thwart the will of the people by his own fiat.

That is a false dichotomy that you have fabricated.

What is false about it? That on the one hand we complain that police get special treatment and on the other complain that they get treated the same as everyone else? I don't think I can claim to have fabricated anything, I just read the thread and used what posters had said. It may indeed be false, but it's not a dichotomy I created, just one I observed.

(on another point, I'd just like to compliment everyone on the civilized way this thread has been conducted, compared to the way it would have gone on say, another forum ;) )

I have never seen anyone take that position. I have always seen the police get special treatment. For example: Officer Gort from Woodbury.

Oh yeah, isn't that the same Tom Lyden who works with Beard's wife? The same guy who got all balled up with the St. Paul PD by prying into Rebecca Treptow's records?

What a reporter finds is what they find :o I am sure if some one offered them a tip about something that happened in the media they will take it :o And Oh My God did she have a bad record of run ins with the police. Including when she was a police reservist and told the cop who stopped her that they had no right to ticket her. I really have to think she had a real problem with the police, judging on her previous actions :o :o

But wait all these people who never met them, or could tell them from Adam in a crowd swear they are good people and are getting Railroaded as it has to be a goverment conspiracey. I know several People who have met Treptow over the years and they all have a personal opinion on the guy and from what these people WHO have actually had plenty of interaction with him before the incident, have not much good to say about him to be polite. And i value the opinion of people i actually know and have done for several years, as opposed to some person sitting behind a keyboard Naked :o

I think you really need to re adjust your Foil hat as the waves are getting to your head :o :o
