Ch 9 said last night that the perpetrator had a "concealed carry" permit certification, not a permit. Even the Strib is saying he only had the cert, but not that he actually had the permit.

I wonder if that's not a backhanded way of announcing he has a permit. That he had a permit would certainly be the inference of many people reading that. And it wouldn't be below the level of 'reporting' taking place on this incident.

Yep, and I'm at a lost to explain how LE can make such an announcement. I believe it is private information.
