So the motive to try to figure out what happened was "Why did Trayvon come back to Zimmerman if he managed to get away?" That is where motive is important.

If we're discussing the culpability of Mr. Zimmerman then motive is still irrelevant. Mr. Martin's reason to return and beat Mr. Zimmerman has no bearing on the nature of his injuries or the degree of danger that he percieved at the time.

If you need to know the motive ask Trayvon. If he'd not fourth coming with an answer they you'll likely never know, and that's gonna cost you soooo much money Heffay. And to think you could have just got down to the root cause of teen violence.

I would suggest that motive is still important, since we don't know if Zimmerman is telling the truth. Therefore we need a reason why Trayvon would come back to beat his ass. Zimmerman lost Trayvon, so to suggest that Trayvon went back with no motive whatsoever is a bit unbelievable.

I may be understanding you. Are you saying that you believe Mr. Zimmerman may have murdered Mr. Martin because you can't imagine a reason for Mr. Martin to return an beat Mr. Zimmerman after having gotten away?

Suggesting that Trayvon sought out Zimmerman and ambushed him just to teach him a lesson is certainly a possibility. There is zero evidence to support that though. There is also Zimmerman's actions that lead to that motive which also can't be discounted. So best case scenario for Zimmerman is he was still at least partially responsible for the actions that lead to the shooting.

Motive doesn't matter. The only thing that matters is who escalated the encounter to violence. If it was Zimmerman, then he was a murderer. If it was Martin, then he was justifiably killed in self defense. Everything else is theater.
