Just sad.
To the two forum members who have used lines from my posts as their signatures, can't you quote Jesse Ventura or some other great Minnesotan instead of stealing mine? - LePetomane

Joan is saying something about the shooter having a "Carry Permit". According to Strib article Cottage Grove police chief indicated that "he had a permit for the firearm".

I'm not thinking that's the same thing...and Joan's lying as per usual.

I'm thinking the Chief has no idea what he's talking about.

I pointed that out to her on Twitter...I expect I'll get her usual response to the truth *crickets*

She never posts truth. She completely misrepresented MN use of force law on her blog the other day - I posted two different lengthy corrections- neither of which she posted - and then linked to another explanation that was even more confused than what she wrote.

Painful.

I would love to debate her in person before an audience where she can't run.

Good luck. She's quite effective at dodging actual conversations with people outside her circle!

Looks like the scumbag in this story had a restraining order, probation, and 5th Degree Dom Assault. Also appears that the spouse was "reconciling" with her abusive husband...

A domestic assault conviction would put him in violation of Federal law for possession of the firearm.
