Bans the sale, transfer, importation, or manufacturing of:
120 specifically-named firearms;
Certain other semiautomatic rifles, handguns, shotguns that can accept a detachable magazine and have one or more military characteristics; and
Semiautomatic rifles and handguns with a fixed magazine that can accept more than 10 rounds.

Wow!!

I think we need to worry more about a statewide ban, especially with our DFL-dominated legislature and kooky Governor.

Yes, we need to worry about this too. Protect MN has already been scheming at the Statehouse w/ Public Safety Chair Paymar. Former Minneapolis Chief Dolan is their new mouthpiece.

That doesn't seem to have helped much in IL, MA, CT, MD, HI, CA or NJ, has it?

I don't think it's that simple.

Courts seem to be changing the laws there as fast as they can.

I could see them proposing something like a $5000 registration fee. If you can't pay it, you have to turn in the rifle as its no longer transferable.

I really hope that they're thinking of these kinds of things. It would be so out of line that very few members of congress would be willing to vote for it. And if they did, they'd be living the rest of their lives in a bus shelter.

I stand by my belief that Heller makes any kind of outright ban on weapons in common use by law abiding citizens unconstitutional. Honestly, I don't know what Feinstein and friends are thinking. They have to know that the odds of any major gun control legislation passing are *extremely* low.

The U.S. Constitution has never stopped anyone (State or Federal) from passing stupid laws. The laws get passed and then it's up to individuals to fight these laws in court with their own money!! If it's truly unconstitutional, they'll win, but have an extremely lighter wallet!
