Gun Safety 101, don't point ANY gun at something you don't wish to destroy.

We're not apologists for every moron who makes a mistake. Last time I went hunting I didn't apologize for the guy who shot a horse; last time I had a beer I didn't apologize for some moron who got a DWI; last time my kid made a mistake I didn't apologize on behalf of all parents.

Stay the course and make sure we direct the discussions back to better mental health care and statistics.
Nothing to see here. Continue swimming.

Crazy ....freak accident or silly dude with a permit that maybe shouldn't have one? Curious to know if they were discussing a divorce settlement at the restaurant?? It accidentally went off officer, I promise! .....Idiot!!

I use a Desantis pocket holster and have never had a problem with the pistol coming out of its holster & covers the trigger perfectly. Wonder if this guy just had a loose gun with no holster?
If you must snap, please leave your guns at home. We don't really care if they ban claw hammers tho!!!

There is no such thing as an accident with a firearm, only negligence.

That sure lacks empathy.

My dog once tried to shoot me. Laid my shotgun down through the bottom of a fence. The dog crawled under and hit the safety and trigger. Not sure which of us jumped the highest.

The story hints at alcohol, wonder if there will be a follow up?

I Disagree Heffay. The vast majority of unintended discharges were preventable and therefore negligent. There are very few true accidents. Same with cars as it is with guns.

That doesn't mean that one can't empathize with someone who make a mistake. We all do. It's still negligence.
