Oh I buy most of my stuff there, but sure is nice to be able to grab inexpensive ammo at Walmart....I think the more sellers the better. I think Walmart helps force companies like Fleet Farm to keep their prices low on ammunition.

Walmart suspends ammo sales/orders

Postby xd ED on Mon Jan 14, 2013 1:19 pm

There's the price and there's the cost of buying something. Given the opportunity to buy ammo at someplace I'm already shopping, vs the time, fuel, and vehicle wear of special trip to wallyworld Allows one to pay a bit more and still be getting the best deal.

They usually had good prices and availability but the market will find a way to get ammo to the customer. It always does.

I also agree with this. This move politically hurts us more than Mill's expanding.

If idiot walmart is stupid enough to stop selling ammo, then I have no reason left to go there... sounds like they are just screwing themselves.

Ammo is literally the only reason I go there. Let the boycott begin.

That would be great if cub foods carried ammo or if the gas station stocked more than .30-06, .30-30, .22, and 12 ga.

I think hardware stores need to get back in the market... it would at least be nice if I had a local gun store that wanted my business, but I don't.

My prediction: Wal-Mart is stopping ordering ammo from suppliers because of the panic buying going on right now. They want prices to return to "normal" so they don't lose their shorts having a billion rounds of .223 in their warehouse that they bought for $1 a round that is now selling for $0.33 a round. Wal-Mart likely insists on a below-market price for the product, and right now the ammo manufacturers can't make enough to sell at above-market price.

Keep in mind WND is the only source reporting this right now...we will see what the true story is.

I haven't seem Wally World restock much in the way of any ammo lately. Not .45ACP, .22LR, .223, etc.

Why not just buy ammo online anyway? I don't know about you when you buy, but when I do, it's hundreds, if not thousands of rounds at a time in different calibers. I've always purchased at stores, but now, I've moved to online only. It just makesm ore sense for me. RARELY I have been able to make bigger purchases at Wally World. I think the most I ever found there at one time for .45ACP was 400 rounds. Considering I shoot a minimum of 200 every time I go to the range and I like to have a surplus, that's not enough ammo for me.

When it comes to IT-related needs, the stores don't carry the stuff I use, so that's always online purchases too.

With the fuel mileage of driving a pickup, I try not to make special trips to a store for one item because a person does end up paying more it in the long run.

I was thinking the same thing, no one will sell to them at the price they want to pay.
I prefer to buy from FF anyway so it is ok with me.

Lol, doubt it. Target won't sell anything resembling a gun, including toy gun/cap guns, etc....

Isn't that ironic? I mean Target = target? Maybe they don't sell guns and ammo because they think someone will shoot at their sign? (GRIN)
