I don't think the folks down in Bentonville, Arkansas are going anti-shooting, anti-gun. As the 800 lb gorilla in the retail world, the White House has nothing to intimidate the world's largest retailer with.....but Walmart can make life miserable for the President if it so chooses. Walmart will continue to supply ammunition and firearms as long as there is a profit to be made. These items have always been a mainstay of what Walmart sells to its customer base. Although Walmart has entered various metroplexes, its roots are in our rural "religion and guns" population. Walmart rarely cares about being politically correct. Target always worries about being politically correct........

Then don't work there. Situation solved. You are welcome.

I would never work there nor would ever think of working there. Have had extended family that worked there.

Lol, doubt it. Target won't sell anything resembling a gun, including toy gun/cap guns, etc....

Isn't that ironic? I mean Target = target? Maybe they don't sell guns and ammo because they think someone will shoot at their sign? (GRIN)

I never bought a gun there,(I'm told they did sell them) but Target did sell ammo, targets, and various accs. Probably got some .22lr around w/ a Target price tag They did cave to the antis. Circa late 70s-early 80s??

Early 90's I believe. I remember seeing a lot of 12 ga ammunition on clearance there shortly after I moved to the cities.

Neither of these news sites have an ounce of credibility. Any other articles about it use the same shady "report" as their source.

I just picked up 2 boxes of CCI Stingers and 4 boxes of 12 gauge target ammo at... Fleet Farm! Was hoping to find a stray Ruger 25 round magazine, but oh well.

Kind of sad looking at all the empty shelves, then watching some folks who genuinely need some ammo struggling to find 'something' that will work.

I quit buying ammo at Wal-Mart a couple of years ago when they raised their prices on shotgun above fleet farm

I stopped in the Cambridge WM to get some cheep .380 and 9mm yesterday and there was no 9mm. Gal behind the counter said they have no ammo on order till further notice. Some may come in from past orders but thats it.

Maybe they just gained some credibility then, because they appear to be correct.....I just called EP Walmart and they confirmed.

Then it is definitely curious why more mainstream news outlets aren't reporting it yet, especially given the furor for anything gun ban/restriction/sh aftermath related. Maybe those reporters just don't shop at Walmart.

......or maybe it's not supposed to be reported.

Lots of conflicting reports. I found this one http://www.wnd.com/2013/01/walmart-resp ... mmo-story/ Supposedly they refute the claim that they're banning ammo sales.

I do think it's unfortunate if they ban ammo sales. As far as local retail goes, Walmart has some of the best prices for range ammo.
