Walmart suspends ammo sales/orders

They are not banning ammo sales (the way I was told) and I bought some.

I stopped in the Cambridge WM to get some cheep .380 and 9mm yesterday and there was no 9mm. Gal behind the counter said they have no ammo on order till further notice. Some may come in from past orders but thats it.

As I believe someone else speculated, I think it's more along the lines of Walmart wanting to maximize their profits. With prices being out of whack right now, they don't want to buy a chit ton of ammunition at insane prices and then get stuck having to sell it at a loss when the prices return to normal (whatever the new normal turns out to be). Basically, they're hedging their bets. They're betting that the prices are going to come down again in the relatively near future.
