Charges were dropped by the prosecutor. The police officer has been suspended pending an investigation.

I can't find a current news article on this - but I had read that on Friday evening

I would be surprised if a follow up article comes along.

Yeah, but what are your chances of losing your job because of that paid vacation?

You don't need a current news article. They state during the report that the state attorney declined to prosecute (1:21), and that charges were dropped 17 days after the arrest (1:58).

What about charges he might have incurred if they towed his vehicle? At the very least, he should be compensated for any costs or lost wages he incurred and a Personal Face to Face Apology from the officer.

Civil suit to follow for this guy. He won't get rich, but he'll get some nice compensation. "Or I'll shoot you in fxxxx back?

Wow, and there's any wonder that people have a negative view of cops?

Don't get me wrong, I know they all aren't like that, but the ones that are sure make a good job of making the rest look bad. Of course, the good that they do usually doesn't get much attention, while shart like this blows up, but jesus. You'd think you'd try to represent your organization a little better.

I work with a lot of ex LEO's, and sadly the majority of them lack any common sense and proper decision making abilities. I try to avoid having them on my teams at all cost.

You are starting to see my "issues" with the legal system.

It starts with idiot cops like this one....

I realize he isn't ALL cops. There are more good than bad. But when good cops turn a half blind eye on bad cops like this, (seriously think this is the first time he's done something like this), then they become guilty by association. In a way, condoning it.

The "Thin Blue Line" as it's called.

Do I think that Paul or TMan or Marc Berris (yeah, he's a PT LEO too) are bad cops, uh, no. They are probably three of the only cops right now that you'd get me to sit down and have pie and coffee with.

Because when a cop snaps like this, it's a miracle someone doesn't end up dead. Others haven't been so lucky.
