yop, only cops.....

Theres nothing at all in that release. The first 2 years of his career are missing, as are the last 3. There are also large holes in the attachment dates they provided. If this is what they claimed to be his "service record" that they released, then the people they gave it to are complete idiots. A persons service record is hundreds of pages long, and contains everything that happened in a persons career. The above is a mostly missing summarization of where he was attached. It's pretty much worthless at describing his career.

Perhaps you wish to contact the Navy or newspaper and bring up the discrepancies. I think they're hiding the fact he was trained with Steven Seagal personally.

No, but I find it amusing that people are under the impression that the Navy released his "records".

You're right about it only being a summary and the holes in the attachment dates, but his first two years ARE there....

Commissioning date = 03JUL2002

Aviation Training Units 04JUL2002 - 15JUN2004 23 months
Navy Personnel Command 16JUN2004 - 22JUN2004 4 days
Mobile Inshore Undersea Warfare Unit 23JUN2004 - 28FEB2006 20 months
NMPS San Diego, CA 06JUL2006 - 10JUL2006

Looks to me like 43 months reported before the first "break" in his reported service dates.

Various Aviation Training Units is not an actual command that anyone would be attached to. Neither is Various Reserve Units. This information is not what is in his service record, it is something someone typed up specifically for the press, which eliminated the details of where he was actually assigned. I have no idea why they would do this, perhaps sloppiness, who knows. By my count he was assigned to Various Reserve Units for a 52 day period. How many was various? Why was he assigned to presumably multiple different reserve units during a 52 day period? Most likely answer is that he wasn't, that the Navy just put together some BS for the press, who ate it up without question. Just like they always do.

The Navy Personnel Command, NMPS San Diego and Navy Mobilization Processing Site (which is NMPS San Diego) are processing centers which indicate that he was in the process of being transferred to another command or his reserve unit was in the process of being activated. The dates he was "assigned" there was for for admin and processing. This leaves only the following as the actual commands where he could have been attached:

Navy Reserve NAS Fallon, NV 7Mar2009 30Nov2009 - 8 months
Coastal Riverine Group Two Det Bahrain 3Nov2006 23Apr2007 - 5 months
Coastal Riverine Group One, San Diego, CA 10Jul2006 31Oct2006 - 3 months
Mobile Inshore Undersea Warfare Unit 23Jun2004 28Feb2006 - 19 months

Actually, Mobile Inshore Undersea Warfare Unit isn't actually a command either, it's a description of a command, although it does give indication what his assignment was during this time frame.

That's around 3 years out of 10.5 years that he served in the Navy. I'd say it's slightly less than complete.
