not sure if you watched the Youtube video of the punks at Minneapolis South High School from earlier this week, the video is a basically worthless, but the comments are PRICELESS

I believe it was kstp that interviewed a student that stated there were ethnic tensions. Then had the mpls school board official saying nothing of the sort was happening.

It reinforces why my wife home schooled our children. None of this multiculturalism crap, no teachers telling us the kids need Adderal, and no indoctrination.

If this were white kids beating up on the Somalis it would be all over the news.

I homeschooled my son through jr. high, then partial during high school. His stories of gang activity differed markedly from the school districts assertion of no gang activity. He also said the major area of preperation for college was to show how most of academia is intolerant of questions and are vindictive pricks when questioned. So much for learning.

Kudos for home schooling your kids. No way in hell would I ever put a child in public or private school. Too many shootings, too low of quality education, too dangerous, too many other things as well. I'm glad you found a way to make it work and it sounds like you're a good parent. We need more like you. I've know people who home-schooled their kids from K-12 and they turned out just fine, in fact, really well. It takes a real commitment on the part of both parent and child for that to succeed though. It takes a certain discipline, just like working from home does, because not everyone can do that either.

As for the fighting in the school, perhaps like many people, they didn't like the Somalis?

I think it's pretty unlikely, however, guns aren't allowed in school, but they are in my home. Everyone can parent (or not parent) how they want to.

I once had an interesting discussion with a gentleman who immigrated from Cameroon as an adult. While it was not his desire or intention, he was not at all accepted as an African or American by native born "African-Americans"
