I have to say some of these states are getting a bit carried away! Watch the news, I've been watching channel 5 news this morning, and now the big thing is this death in Zimmerman. Was that gun related? Nobody knows yet. The police aren't saying anything. But whether or not it was a shooting, poisioning, or whatever. It's still not the gun! And some lawmakers just don't get it. It's not a gun that's causing them. It's still the people! You don't just go to bed, and the next morning 3 people are dead. You can flip thru the news channels, and see there are people killed everyday. It's not all guns. There's car accidents, snowmobile accidents, beatings, you name it. It still comes back to the people. Whether that mother and children were killed somehow by her husband that recently moved out we don't know. And if that's the case, no matter how he did it. It still comes back to the person. And when someone is a few fries short of a happy meal, they are still going to committ the crime they want to! They will always find a way to do it. The government just fails to realize that!

The old addage of "there's more than one way to skin a cat" has always proved to be true. There's always more than 1 way to do things. There's more than one way to drive from my house to town, more than one way to get out of bed in the morning, more than 1 channel to watch on tv, more than one way to drive to work, more than 1 way to cook a hamburger. There's options! And the government seems to think that people have no options. There's always options. People who are sick and want to committ these disgusting crimes will always find a way. You make it illegal for anyone in the state to own an AR 15, and illegal to own more than a 10 round magazine. Well, guess what, that person is still going to find a way to do the next "sandy hook" massacre. They will just buy the gun illegally. Whether it's black market, or out of state, or whatever. Maybe next time they build a bomb and take out the whole school, or go crashing thru the playground area when the kids have recess. Whatever, they just can't stop these things from happening by making certain guns illegal. I don't care what anyone says, i know myself, i'm sick and tired of the government wasting my tax dollars on trying to control something that they flat out cant! This has been a huge topic since mid December. 3 1/2 months of time and money wasted! Just think if maybe they would put that much time into jobs, economy, the budget deficit. I never used to think taxes were a bad thing. Keeps our country afloat. But now i'm starting to think taxes should be a free will offering. Because the only one who can responsibly spend my money is myself! The government just pisses it away on their own stupidity!

The very thing that politicians fear about gun owners is our downfall, (independence).

What do you have in mind?
To the two forum members who have used lines from my posts as their signatures, can't you quote Jesse Ventura or some other great Minnesotan instead of stealing mine? - LePetomane

Are you advocating armed insurrection against the current US government? Or are you referring to a vigorous political campaign to elect representatives that will vote our views?

Interesting question. I can think of no greater testament to the immense desire of gun owners to live peacefully than the simple fact that they are as disenfranchised and disgruntled as they for as long as they have been with governement in all its forms and still patriotic enough to say aloud to their brothers that taking up arms is not the right solution at this time.

I think there's other ways to work through this before taking up arms; however if that time comes, each person will have to make their own choice.

I haven't trusted elections in a long time.

Why?

1) When Jesse Ventura won the election for Governor, I flipped through the channels and they all had 2 stacks of papers, one for if the Republican won and one for if the Democrat won, they were COMPLETELY unprepared.

2) Of all 50 states, only ONE can't count in 2000? and Jeb Bush is the Governor of it, and his relative George W Bush is running for President. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_Sta ... da_results

3) 2000,2004 and 2008 elections both had loaded Diebold voting machines.

4) We trust the Electoral College to vote for us based on what each state votes. akin to "It's not the people who vote that count. It's the people who count the votes." (Josef Stalin)
...and that's just for starters.

As for Gun Control/People Control, people killed before guns existed, and people will kill people if guns no longer exist too. People are the problem, not guns. I know the AGers like ti say how many people can be killed with a magazine, AR-15, etc, but there's far better ways to take out mass amounts of people without firing a single shot. Look at the Oklahoma blast which claimed 168 lives, including 19 children under the age of 6, and injured more than 680 people. The blast destroyed or damaged 324 buildings within a sixteen-block radius, destroyed or burned 86 cars, and shattered glass in 258 nearby buildings, and not a single shot was fired by McVeigh.

The bottom line of the AGer's agenda is to turn wolves into sheep so the herd may be controlled and culled.

Ditto on not trusting elections anymore.

Are you advocating armed insurrection against the current US government?

No. But I do think it is time to some how reset are current elected officals and get rid of the two party system. It is NOT working for us as a nation anymore.
