Brown says EA's decision had little to do with politics, noting that LaPierre's comments have had little resonance among its clientele. "The response from our audience was pretty clear: they feel the comments from the NRA were a simple attempt to change the subject," the spokesperson said

The game company claims it has the legal right to depict branded weapons in its products, likening its games to novels and other narrative-based media. "We're telling a story and we have a point of view," Frank Gibeau, EA president of labels, said in an interview with Reuters. "A book doesn't pay for saying the word 'Colt,' for example."

Turn 10 is probably wondering why they're paying licensing fees to all the auto manufacturers of the cars they use in their Forza line of racing games.

I think EA is based in Canada. Two none of their games are that good anyways...

I won't be buying their products.. It's not like Madden, Need for speed or Medal of Honor were that good.. Maybe less video games all around are a good thing.

It doesn't actually appear that EA has paid any license fees in the past. Just a charity for wounded veterans that asked for cash from gun manufacturers, and then promoted those that donated with links. But as far as license goes, nothing has changed.

[EA spokesperson Jeff] Brown said, "zero money from the manufacturers ever went to EA—all money went directly to the veterans' charity." Furthermore, EA has never paid a licensing fee to a gun maker to include their weapons in a game, nor has it been paid by a gun maker to feature its particular weapons. "No other EA game or service has used licensed gun images in a game," Brown said.

That being said, I'd recommend avoiding EA in general. That also has not changed.

I tend to think of it as free advertising for the gun companies. Those who play the games and are not old enough to buy guns, will be someday. It is like conditioning, they will lean toward the guns that they liked in the games.

That being said, it would make for an interesting lawsuit.

EA is absolute scum. They are literally the worst company in America.

It's not about anything political, they just don't want to pay.

I am currently boycotting them and have been for a while now.
