How these type of dumb asses think their actions are going to carry a positive effect for 2A rights is beyond me. Carry what you normally carry, how you normally carry and this would never have become an issue. Making a spectacle of yourself by bringing an AR into a politically neutral coffee shop going "look at me....look at me" is simply idiotic.

Starbucks changing their mind on guns...

These folks bringing AR-15s and staging OC protests at Starbucks are the Walter Sobchaks of the gun community.

They're not wrong, they're just ********.

So..............question: When was the last time you heard of a shooting or robbery attempt at any Starbucks shop? Um...never?? Maybe because lowlife scum KNOW that there just MIGHT be someone armed sitting inside the Starbucks shop that MIGHT shoot back! :D

I think it's corporate policy that they don't get robbed:

You make the same fundamental mistake as the antis if you equate "heard of" with "happened" - just because something is paid attention to by the media does not make it commonplace. They tend to pay attention to things that are out of the ordinary. Conversely, things that are commonplace, like drowning and fatal motor vehicle accidents, are generally ignored.

The beauty of the free market is that one can drink whatever coffee they choose and don't have to pay Starbucks or Caribou prices. Convenient store coffee is just as good.
Donald Trump got more fat women moving in one day than Michelle Obama did in eight years.

This is already great fodder for the media. Unfortunately, there are almost certain to be open carry activists providing an unfortunate backlash. I perceive this "request" by Starbucks will ultimately be unsuccessful at keeping them out of the debate and will force them into a policy that is quite a bit more restrictive. My experience with open-carry true believers has been that restraint is not a prime trait. Anyone who would bring an AR into Starbucks is definitely not ready to look closely at the big picture IMHO.
