This brings a lot of issues home.
(There's a 'caption contest' in the expression on his face)
The New Mayor of Minneapolis (some chick) wants to start a 'Cradle to Pre-school' support program for underprivledged youts in Minneapolis...it's her first order of business.
Hopefully there's a chapter on 'Don't steal stuff' and 'Don't beat people with a stick while shouting...WE ARE GOING TO KILL YOU'
Possibly the two girl-thugs should get some of that one-to-one counseling from the Babe-Mayor.
I think her campaing slogan was 'Come to Momma' Here's the new mayor wearing a Birka:

She's So INCLUSIVE!
Anyway the firearm issue here in my opinion is the threshold for lethal force. Do your own thinking...He was attacked by 2 strapping Ghetto-Mommas with a BILLY CLUB. And they be shouting 'We are going to kill you'
Is there any question that that merits "2 to the heart and one to the head" times two. (even though they are children?)
The runner-up in the Minneapolis mayoral election is recovering after being robbed and brutally beaten Thursday night at the Mall of America.
Mark Andrew, 63, was at a Starbucks inside the mall at around 7 p.m. Thursday when a man grabbed his phone off his table and ran off.
When Andrew went after him, he was tackled by two teenage girls – aged 18 and 17 — one of which began beating him with a billy club. During the attack, they told Andrew, “We’re going to kill you,” police say.
Andrew was left with a large gash on his head that required nine stitches. He has since been released from the hospital.
Andrew said Friday that he chased after the thief, because he’s not a bystander by nature.
“If somebody is gonna do that to me or somebody else, I’m not a bystander by nature I’ll go in and fight,” he said.
The two women who attacked Andrew were arrested and are in custody. The 18-year-old was identified as Letajia Shapree Cutler-Cain, of Brooklyn Park. She is pictured above and is being held pending felony charges of aiding and abetting aggravated robbery.
Police are still searching for the male suspect.

Ghetto-Momma #1 Letajia Shapree Cutler-Cain, of Brooklyn Park ...Letajia Shapree....such poetry in a name !!!

Next time I'm being beaten in the Head with a Fricking Billy-Club...I'll have to pull out this cheat sheet and do a quick review...
My current standard as an over-the-hill 60 something (whether proper or not) is you swing with a closed fist (and hit or miss) and you're getting shot at least 3 times although I will most likely empty the magazine in your head.

Deadly Force outside the Dwelling:
Generally requires 4 criteria to be met and is an affirmative defense. That is, you in effect say: Yes, I DID it but it was justified because ... You can think of the criteria as pillars or links in a chain holding you over a legal pit . If any of the elements is not present, you don't have the protection of the affirmative defense and the justification for lethal force is NOT present.
1) Reluctant participant. You can not be an aggressor in the altercation. You don't get to start or escalate an altercation and claim self defense. De-escalation, avoidance, and being the biggest chicken in the room are GOOD ideas
2) Reasonably in fear of Gross Bodily harm or Death. It must be an immediate threat. "I'm going to get my gun and kill you" is a threat but not immediate until the gun is present. Gross bodily harm means injuries so great that death is likely or possible; or that you’ll be disfigured or crippled permanently or for a significant period of time
3) Retreat if possible. You must retreat if you can safely do so. You don't have to retreat into more danger. i.e: turn your back on a gun / attacker, rush into traffic, leave your loved ones behind.
4) No lesser force would suffice. If you can stop a threat with something less than deadly force, you are required to. You are required to stop using force as soon as the threat stops. The condition of the victim and the attacker matter. You are not required to try other methods before using deadly force, you are simply expected to consider alternatives, and to only use deadly force when no other option is sufficient
Soooooooo.......what's your take on our 'Almost Mayors' bad day....His first mistake was not 'Retreating' ...he chased the Homies over PROPERTY. (mistake #1)
I would have backed up. (hopefully...however 'thinking' would not be a factor in this scenario)
It's shameful that our politicians would respond with force just to protect a silly cell phone...Shameful.
So glad this guy isn't the Mayor of MInneapolis. Who was his instructor?
JOY TO THE WORLD!
