Mods: locking gunsmith's threads isn't doing anything to stop his racist posts. Why should he be getting off so easily for this despicable behavior?

Yeah, I'm on board with this sentiment. Waaaaayyyyyyyyy out of line pulling the race card ******** here.

No, it's Al (not so) Sharpton.

Posting this again...just watched it. You'll see and hear his mother in her own words describe the boy's troubles.

Her frankness is refreshing. I'm used to hearing politicians on camera where every fricking word is a lie...

She also wishes peace to the officer.

I feel bad for this woman. She did everything she could for her kid but could not overcome peer pressure. It doesn't matter where the tomcatting "baby daddy" was. Her sons outcome would have been the same regardless.

CHICAGO (STMW) – A 17-year-old has been charged as an adult with murder, in connection with the robbery of an off-duty Cook County Sheriff’s sergeant Monday night that left another suspect dead.

Devante Graham of the 10300 block of South Corliss faces one count of first-degree and one count of armed robbery, according to Cook County State’s Attorney’s office spokeswoman Tandra Simonton.

About 9:55 p.m. Monday, three males tried to rob the sergeant as he was pumping gas at a Citgo station in the 700 block of East 103rd Street, according to Chicago Police and Cook County Sheriff’s spokesman Ben Breit.

They demanded the sergeant’s wallet, which he gave them. One of the suspects then pulled a handgun and aimed it at the sergeant, according to police. The sergeant then pulled his own gun and shot the suspect in the head, killing him.

Deonta Mackey, 16, of the 900 block of East 104th Street, was pronounced dead at the scene at 10:08 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office. An autopsy Tuesday found he died of multiple gunshot wounds and his death was ruled a homicide.

Police said the suspect’s weapon was recovered at the scene.

The third suspect is still being sought, police said.

Looks like Felony Murder is being charged.

Does anyone remember the 'Good Samaritan' shooting in the Lake Street Cub Foods parking lot where a Thug, Darren Evanovich, was shot by a still un-named permit holder ??? In this attempted robbery the Thug was pistol whipping an 60 year old Hispanic Cleaning Woman in the parking lot and fled with her purse. The Good Samaritan chased him and demanded he give it up.

At that point the Thug, Evanovich pointed an EMPTY GUN at the Good Sam. Good Sam drew and shot him dead.

His sister, Octavia Shont'e Marberry (with a 'long criminal history') was involved in the robbery and they had apparently 'worked' that lot in the past.

I would like an explanation from Mike Freeman (Hennepin County Attorney ) as to WHY he did not ask for Felony murder charges in what is know as the 'Good Samaritan' shooting. Octavia Shont'e Marberry was involved in this robbery.

And she is now serving 3.5 years in jail w/ 10 years probation when released for MULTIPLE PROVEN ROBBERIES COMMITTED IN THAT PARKING LOT. This girl, Evanovich (and her mother) were proven to be inside the adjacent Target using victims credit cards WHILE THE POLICE WERE TAKING THE VICTIMS REPORT.

Sister's Mug Shot:

Octavia Shonte Marberry, 20, of Minneapolis, has been charged with robbing two women in Minneapolis parking lots. Her brother, Darren Evanovich, was shot and killed during another Minneapolis robbery this month.

The Question Here Is: Is the Hennepin County Prosecutor, Mike Freeman, who will surely run for Governor in the future...'Soft on Crime'?

He gets credit for not 'leaking' the name of the permit holder but...WOULD HAVE A MORE AGGRESSIVE PROSECUTOR ASKED FOR FELONY MURDER IN THE 'GOOD SAMARITAN' CASE.

Someone who travels in the circle of criminal defense attorneys and the local Law enforcement scene may have an opinion.
I have heard the theory that when a Chicago Gang-Banger gets too hot in Chicago...they relocate up to Minneapolis where the livin' is easy.

WOULD HAVE A MORE AGGRESSIVE PROSECUTOR ASKED FOR FELONY MUR

Postby Nougat on Fri Feb 14, 2014 12:51 am

I don't think so? something about being at target and not connected to brothers attack on holder at all... she wasn't even an accessory to the assault ( pistolwhipping )? I think thats right anyhow.

standing right next to someone pointing a gun at someone though, yeah you are in on it. so your accomplice is the one who ends up dying when alls done. too bad you should be punished for it if you are lucky enough to not get killed along with him? he isn't being charged for murdering his accomplice right?

IIRC in the 'Good Samaritan' case in Mpls. The sister was significantly involved in the assault. I believe in Felony murder even the driver of a getaway car is chargeable. The sister and mother of Darren Evanovich did a SERIES of robbery / assaults in that parking lot.....and they targeted middle-aged women who were alone...(I'd give them a few extra years just for that) they lived a few blocks away and didn't have a car....big criminal masterminds. The shopping in Target with the victims cards were done during OTHER robberies. :(

These people belong 'warehoused' in prison so they can't keep doing these crimes.

I want to know if Mike Freeman cares about taking these people off the street....he's going to run for Governor some day...his former boss is now our Senator...

My preference would be a society where most law-abiding people carried, and the average lifespan of career armed robbers would be about their second or third attempt.

I'd prefer the warehoused option. What you suggest would, in reality, exposé an awful lot of legal permit holders to an inordinate amount of self defense shootings. That brings along other consequences, like legal fees for defense and unnecessary emotional trauma for the shooters. We'd all like to think that if/when it comes time to defend ourselves and loved ones we would instantly turn into high speed death machines, but we are human after all. I can imagine feeling that it would be preferable for everyone involved that criminals go, and STAY, where they belong.
