A Bible saved the life of a Ohio bus driver after the man was shot twice in the chest early Monday, police said.

Rickey Waggoner, a Dayton RTA bus driver, was making a mechanical fix outside his bus when three assailants approached him and shot him in what appears to have been a gang initiation, the Dayton Daily News reported.

Waggoner was shot twice in the chest at close range, but a contemporary version of the Bible, titled "The Message," absorbed the bullets that would otherwise have killed the 49-year-old bus driver, according to police documents obtained by the newspaper...............................................

At a previous employer I use to read the bible during my lunch hour in the company cafeteria, right up to the point I was told by HR that some of our non-citizen workers were offended and if I wanted to read it I should take my lunch in my car or somewhere off campus. I never said a word to anyone about religion, I sat at a table by myself and carried the bible in my backpack to and from the table.

I wonder how the employer would have reacted if it was you making the complaints about them?

What is your point? Because I'm white, a male, and I read the bible I have less rights than anyone else. Or am I misunderstanding your comment?

The hypocrisy is that if it was you complaining about a muslim reading their religious book or praying you'd be getting sued for it.

The push to unseat the traditional norms of the US is just amazing. More amazing is how the rules/laws/etc. have been adjusted to push the agenda and so many are OK with it.

I am not a religious man, but respect everyone's rights to practice whatever they choose, as long as you do not try to push your beliefs on me.
I think what the problem is now is people/corperations/gov't is so worried about being called discriminatory that any one of of " non traditional " beliefs are always given better treatment. One call to any civil rights group and thats all she wrote!

everyone is equal, unless you are straight, white, male, christian, or any combination of those. good luck if you're all of them.
