Because this isn't a pure democracy. We are a Republic in which certain rights are recognized, not granted, by our Constitution, one of which is to keep and bear arms, which shall not be infringed! Molon Labe!

No offence, but you sound just like the Union boys on the Iron Range with their Obama and Frankin bumper stickers plastered all over their vehicles. Any and all conversation with them about the 2nd Amendment, always starts and ends with " I'd like to see em try".

These are the same guys that still have the same box of 30-30 shells that they have had since, forever. Don't shoot, don't practice, don't care and can't hit ****. Beer bellied blowhards that will run for cover faster than fast if they actually ran into agents that, TRY.

Democrats, go figure.

It's not that I don't think that the folks proclaiming "Molon Labe" all over facebook and gun forums wouldn't put up a fight; it's that I think they would, foolishly, and then die alone in a pool of their own blood. That would serve little purpose as the media would portray "the lone gunman" as an anti-establishment kook. That likely won't start the "next revolution" either.

There doesn't need to be a revolution. It would be folly to attempt to fight the "government" or the troops/police. There is a more common sense approach. To target those, relatively few, legislators and judges who pass and uphold these treasonous and unconstitutional infringements. Those are the ones who need to be held accountable. It can even, perhaps, be settled in an afternoon. April 19th does have historical importance. (Let me be clear, so the NSA or any other government authority that is likely monitoring these topics- by targeted and held accountable I mean that these fine folks should get a good talking too. Preferably, not in front of their children)

To be clear, I'm ever hopeful that we can continue to win the fight on paper and it would never come to violence. We're a long way from crossing that bridge. As was pointed out to me (an important lesson for me to learn) and others in another thread, gun owners in this state are ahead of where we were 20 years ago.

Sure, it's stupid (to me) that a person who wants to buy a firearm in Minnesota, has to buy a permit and wait however many days for the permit to be issued to them, before they can then go buy a firearm and be approved, delayed, or denied; but as long as they aren't being prevented from owning a firearm, the permit will be issued.

A thread title more reflective of the significance of events out east: "Mass Resistance to Confiscation in Connecticut."

An gun ban is nothing new under the sun for the grabber. For the pro-2nd movement, generalized rejection of unjust law is a watershed moment. Such widespread solidarity undercuts the right-wing extremist bogieyman in the grabbers arsenal. No reasonable citizen in blue Conn.will buy 1000,000+ rabid, mouth breathers heretofore unnoticed in their midst.
