It sounds like there is more to it than him stopping his grazing payments, but at the same time he has had his full day in court and his "side" can't even agree on what the facts are.

Are there tortoises involved?
Is this about minerals?
Wind farming?
Harry Reid?
State owned land?
Federal land?
Used to be your family's land and stolen?
Who has the deed?
Who bribed what politician for what reason?

My bias is that I always apply Hanlon's Razor, especially when looking at the government. Look it up.

You're probably correct - but stupidity played out on a large enough scale, or a long enough period of time, still ends up being evil...

Bundy ranch is now a "no fly zone".

http://tfr.faa.gov/save_pages/detail_4_1687.html

Operating Restrictions and Requirements

No pilots may operate an aircraft in the areas covered by this NOTAM (except as described).

ONLY RELIEF AIRCRAFT OPERATIONS UNDER DIRECTION OF BLM ARE AUTHORIZED IN THE AIRSPACE

Wouldn't want any pesky photographers documenting the chasing and killing (unintentionally of course) of Bundy cattle.

So geraldo et al won't be doing a play-by-play from a helo; now there's are real loss to us all.
The less attention given to this acute incident, the better.
The land grab issue won't get fixed by this guy. The more he talks, the more it appears he doesn't know if he's on foot or horseback.
And what do you think barry's 1st move will be after someone, who'se crossed a state line, pops a fed with his 'a salt weapon''?

If the gov. wishes to prevent the documentation of their behavior, creating a no-fly zone will not serve such a purpose. Every phone is a camcorder, and every American is a reporter.

Does that ban include 'Quadcopters' with cameras?

All it means is that they are flying drones around, and light aircraft and drones without tight air traffic control means problems.

Which means nothing if they shoot a vid, drive down the road a ways, and send it to all their friends.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article ... -land.html

this headline just changed, I wonder if they are right?

somewhere in the comments the closing of a facility dedicated to those tortoises is mentioned juxtaposed with how much good this has probably done them(the tortoises it was also said that disturbing them after hibernation was detrimental) and that it cost 3 million plus doesn't really make me think that was the real motive.

just some practice for ''first amendment area'' type police?

edit:on another note the updated headline is hilarious since the time I read the article before it was changed said they had already ''seized'' about 350 of Bundy's 908 cattle, according to various reports. [still says that too?]

Don't think you are following. They are not allowing anybody near the cattle on foot or vehicle. The only footage wi be from the road around the land.
