Having read only the headline, I was ready to complain about the writer's incorrect portrayal of what constitutes a failed test.

If you fire a bullet at a vest, and it penetrates, that's not a failure - it successfully demonstrates the capabilities of the vest.

But, having read the story, it's clear that this was, in fact, a failed test. By missing the vest entirely, they learned nothing at all about the capabilities of the vest. And that is a failure.

Sounds quite plausable to me. Being an owner of pet snakes, I'm always skeptical of those stories of how "my 10' python strangled my baby"...mmm hmmm, yeah right. How come we never get to see the autopsy report? The OP's posting could very well be a murder cover up.
