Couple of random points:

According to the criminal complaint, investigators learned that at least one of the suspects had gotten into an argument with the Black Lives Matter protesters on another occasion. Scarsella and an acquaintance were seen on surveillance video wearing camouflage and face masks at the precinct Nov. 19.

And this is pertinent how? Many of the protesters were shown wearing 'face masks' too. It was cold out. Camo isn't really a bad thing, other than being a fashion faux pas.

In an interview with police, the acquaintance said they went to the 4th Precinct that day to film protesters.

Investigators say they saw a video made by Scarsella and the acquaintance that day where they used derogatory terms and said they were going to do some “reverse cultural enriching” and “make the fire rise.” They ended the video with saying, “stay white,” according to the criminal complaint.

The acquaintance admitted to police that they made “inappropriate comments” to the protesters that day, sparking angry Internet posts on websites like Reddit and 4Chan.

A 4Chan email string showed participants talking about going to the Black Lives Matter protest to “stir things up” and “cause commotion,” according to the criminal complaint. The email string encouraged people to dress like protesters but to “feel free to carry.”

Film the protesters - Nothing wrong with that.
Using derogatory terms, 'make the fire rise', racial comments - Sounds a lot like what the protesters are already doing. Over and over.
'Stir things up', 'cause commotion' - Again, this is what the protesters are doing. Nothing wrong with giving them a little of their own medicine.

Obviously I'm not advocating for people do put themselves in the position these guys did, but they had every bit as much of a right to do that as the protesters do (which is not to say that I agree with them doing it either). For the mob of protesters to not be able to withstand taking their own medicine and turn on these guys really shows their lack of character. They were every bit as wrong as the white guys. It's a $h1tfest, but the fact these guys had to resort to protecting themselves doesn't make them any worse or any more illegal than the protesters.

Henn Cty Atty Freeman put forth one of the reasons he wanted to see the protest site closed was his fear it might attract disruptive, violent terrorist types... To paraphrase Dr Frazer Crane to Cliff Claven on CHEERS: "What color is the sky in your world?"

Eliminate the PC and the four clowns charged with the shooting have behaved quite similarly the to rioters holding the area hostage.
But with all the local lefties stumbling over each other to make their street cred, and do a selfie with a thug, these 4 4 have clearly put themselves in the wrong place at the wrong time.

This clearly isn't about justice. This is about retribution and making example out of these men. Obviously don't interfere with the BLM they will burn you down for acting and doing exactly the same thing they are doing, except its just, right and acceptable for the BLM. What a freaking joke.
Give me liberty or give me death... Those willing to give up liberty for safety deserve neither...

Freeman was challenged at the press conference by community member Greg Demmings who said the assault and riot charges are not enough.

“I think it should be first-degree intentional attempted murder,” Demmings said.

There'd be far less consternation regarding this incident if that rule applied uniformly.

The vandals, rioters, terrorists and molotov throwing team don't seem to garner the same attention and penalties.
Not that this excuses anyone's behavior.
But it can't be argued that if the law would have been enforced early on, the opportunity for the shootings to occur would not have been present.

None of those people shot anyone... The guy shot 5 people. Does anyone here truly believe that if they shoot 5 people (even in self defense) they are going home and sleeping in their own bed anytime in the immediate future? The court system will play itself out. My guess is the 3 that didn't shoot will plead down lesser charges and you won't hear of that again. The shooter is going to have a hard time with all the video and social media that he posted prior to going down there that Monday night. His lawyer will probably be able to plead down to some lesser charges, getting away with no judgements against is a long shot.

I certainly am not defending these guys; individually or as a group.

I question the hypocrites who have ignored the incendiary (figurative and literal) actions of the 'activists' and speak of these guys like they acted in a vacuum.
If the courts/ justice system were at work, a large group of these blm thugs would be in jail, and the rest would be off the police department's property.

I agree with this sentiment, while these 4 idiots seem to have gone out of their way to land in jail for a long time the investigation into charges that protesters are throwing Molotov cocktails and firing shots at police officers doesn't seem to be progressing at all.

Do you honestly think that if a group of people other than the BLM folks came to the scene and physically pressured/pushed/assaulted the BLM protesters the way the BLM protesters did to these three white guys that they would NOT be prosecuted harshly for that assault? And can you envision any scenario if that happened and a BLM person shot the assaulters where 'hate crime' would be talked about for the shooter? Double standards are evil things.
