They have no idea if 2000 rounds is normal or if it implies nefarious intent. They tend to monkey-see monkey-do concerning topics they know nothing about, and that means they might make a big deal out of nothing, or thoroughly embarrass themselves.

If they tend to be in our side, I cut them some slack on their ignorance. If they're trying to restrict my rights, I go for the jugular and highlight every ridiculous thing they've ever said.

Problem is that if they talk about 2000 rounds being a bad thing long enough then people will start to think it.

As a competitive shooter in multiple disciplines, I shudder to imagine what the liberal media would constitute my ammo cache as.

Exactly, when many people I know, including myself that will load more than 2000 rounds of a caliber in a single session on a cold winter evening.
Then change over the press the next evening to do a different caliber and do 2000 or more. :o

I try to limit myself to only loading 1,000 rounds per session / day. For the safety of "the children".

(Or, I only have 10 primer tubes, 100 primers per tube, for my Dillon 650 press and I need to stop and reload those before proceeding to load more ammo. Also, my arm gets tired from operating the press 1,000 times.)
Because I care, I carry.

Fox News is part of the mainstream media. It shouldn't surprise anyone that they are idiots.
It turns out that what you have is less important than what you do with it.

4) Carry a pistol in a holster? A holster designed to allow rapid access to a killing machine
5) Hollowpoint bullet? Specially designed murder bullet
6) Play paintball? Training to hunt man
7) Um....take an ibuprofen? Drugs designed to slow the body's response to pain, allowing them to keep killing despite police gunshots...

I give up...
