A non gun owner who actually thinks

Well she does say:

While I don’t own a gun, I know how to shoot one. It’s a skill I’m happy to possess, and one I intend to refine with additional practice and training.

That’s what responsible gun owners and users do.

Maybe it’s because I am a woman, but few things irritate me more than the pop culture depictions of a helpless woman fumbling with a pistol while she tries in vain to escape an attacker.

So it comforts me to know that were I ever to find myself in a situation in which using a gun was my best chance of survival, I would be able to use one with maximum lethality to my target and minimum danger to myself.

Which makes her more familiar with actual guns than 98% of the people who favor gun control.

It also sounds like she knows better than to believe the faux-pacifist rhetoric of the gun banners:

Violence isn't the answer
If you have a gun the attacker will just take it from you
Carry a whistle to signal for help. Use your car keys and groin kneeing to defend yourself
Defensive use of guns is largely a myth
A gun in the house puts your family at risk
Guns are how white people oppressed and enslaved the rest of the world.
You have a really small penis, don't you? Oh, it's a woman, never mind.
