The Republican party has already lost the general election. They're in denial. The next president will be a dem. It'll be Clinton unless the FBI investigation bears actual fruit and makes it impossible for her to continue. Otherwise, if she's forced to drop, really think Biden will step in. Either way, Clinton or Biden will decimate Trump. The polls are only going to get worse. It's going to get really, really ugly, folks.
I'm a fiscal conservative and I won't vote for Trump. That's a vote that I would have definitely cast for the R party, but now I won't. I also won't vote for the D party. So my vote will likely go to a lesser party, likely Libertarian (which truthfully better aligns with my politics anyways, but I've never voted that way as it's been a waste, so voting for the R party was the closest compromise).
Anyhow, I'll be one of the millions and millions of votes that will go wasted, but it's going to pull a vote from the R party. I think that's going to happen a lot. In contrast, the Bernie supporters are going to hold their nose and vote for Clinton. Because they hate Trump more and they'll be able to get comfortable with Clinton.
Women aren't going to vote for Trump. Minorities aren't going to vote for Trump. Young people aren't going to vote for Trump. He has already alienated too much of the population and he can't get voted into office solely by angry old white men.
Just an honest assessment of how I see things. Back to the topic at hand, gun rights are going to get hosed as a result. The Senate will continue to hold off on approving a Supreme Court nomination. But it's going to be a dem in office next year and they can't hold off on confirming someone for another five years. So everybody better buckle up. The Court is going to flip very liberal in 2017. That's what people get when they screw around and put their faith behind an ***hole like Trump.
Best hope is to vote R across the board on the House and Senate races and hope that they can hold that so that the next dem president doesn't have the full keys to the kingdom like Obama had when he took office in 2008.
I think we're screwed.
