Okay so the assault weapons ban IS coming back like everyone expected. The real question then is what else to buy? I lost a beowulf, a Bushmaster AR, a DS Arms SA58 and an AK in the lake, or some other odd place. Hrmm should I look for something more or extra uppers or lowers for the AR? I don't really know what tends to break or wear out on these things and which of those weak links they are likely to ban. Magazines kind of go without saying.

I was planning to spend some money on nice optics this coming year but what are the odds of various optics ever being banned? I'd also love to take advantage of my Curio with a nice Garrand or something but that seems to be a complete crapshoot on finding a good value.

A lot of the suppliers/manufacturers have a repair kit you can buy. I don't know that it includes everything you would need but it would be good start. Here is a link to a basic repair kit from Bushmaster.
