That's the next step. I didn't see in the article about when that would happen though.
It'll be really interesting to see what the judge does here. I'm leaning towards a special master being appointed who will work on rebuilding the leadership with non-corrupt people.
You're a little over baked here. Of the executives at trial, only two were found to have miss behaved, the counsel for the NRA was not. The two exec's who failed to act in a fiduciary capacity on behalf of the NRA were ordered to pay restitution.
Restitution to the NRA, the victim in this sordid affair. There is absolutely no legal reason for the judge to consider appointing some special counsel to step in and run the NRA to prevent future corruption. The NRA is quite capable of achieving this on their own. NRA members have for years complained of LaPierre's, et al, behavior in the money management of the NRA, and many have left the NRA and/or stopped contributing to the NRA. Now that the "ship" is being righted, those of us who believe in the 2nd amendment need to start thinking real hard about getting back on the NRA ship and help with bailing it out. We all know of and share in the NRA's past work in fostering protection of all Americans under the 2nd amendment in the past; the NRA, in the past, has proven to be a very strong and effective voice across the nation. No other entity is in any position to step in and take up the mantle of 2nd amendment defense. We need to get the NRA back on its feet and working on stopping all of this nonsense.
