Council approves rezoning for Second Amendment Club LLC
The council approved the rezoning of this building from a residential zone to a civic zone with a 5-2 vote with council members Becky Norton and Vicki Jo Lambert opposing.
The owner of the building Lynne Torgerson and owner of Second Amendment Club LLC was in attendance to explain a little further what she plans to do with the building.
“I purchased it [602 West Avenue] for the purpose of having meetings in it and essentially I just want to repair the building, redecorate it and beautify it … I want to have monthly meetings on Fridays of a membership organization,” she said. “People would come in and chat, we would have a speaker and then people can chat and then they leave. Certainly education on our constitutional right, the second amendment, is a civic topic.”
