Actually you still have plenty of choices, just one less than you would have otherwise....

Correct, I could have worded that better.

Oh, beleive me.....If I was present at this incident, I doubt I would have drawn on the gunmen either. It also makes for a good reason to carry concealed, an open carried weapon, might in fact elevate the situation or cause a gunmen to fire, when he normally would not have..... In a situation like that, it will come down to instinct. If your instinct is that the gunmen are going to allow you to esacape with your life, and only take your valuables, it would have been a no-brainer to just comply, and do nothing. On the other hand, if your instinct told you that they were likely to kill or seriously harm you or one of your friends, the decison may be different. One must hope their instinct is good.

The bad guys had 3 guns, and 4 targets.....if the good guys had 1 gun and 3 targets, and 4 targets to defend, the odds are not in the good guys favor. With that said, if serious injury or death was felt as very likely, any and all means available for ones defense should be used.

I think the best thing you could possibly do is get as much training as you can afford. Then you will have some small inkling of an idea how you will perform in a SHTF situation. From talking with a couple of guys I know who've been there, I know I'll be scared pooless... Then I am going to get angry...

beleive me....i am saving money to attend training as we speak. I have researched a few trainers on this site. But I am really looking forward to going to a 2 or 4 day training course at one of the "training camps' again...saving money....

Motion detector lights outside and motion tripped chimes sensing outside-sounding inside are soem great cheap preventitive invstments in your home and personal security. They may scare **** bags off, and if they don't at least it'll give you a heads up that someone is outside.

either I don't wear a gun at home or when I come home I put my gun into the bedside safe cause I got kids..........

Folks, this is a great example of why self defense is a full time 7/24 job......
You are not the one to pick the who, when, and how.........

IF you do not have your gun with you in a ready condition all the time, you might as well sell it....
it is not a piece of jewelry or a fashion statement or I only carry when I'm going someplace questionable....
per this example, your home is questionable.....

Good luck out there..........

I carry at home. My Sig is always by my side! I don't trust any situation any longer.
