I spent tons of time in the 80's carrying toy guns around outside (wood and metal replicas of pistols, UZI's, lever guns and no orange muzzles) and nobody ever called the cops or the cops stop and draw down on me.

Me too, but in the 70's. It's a different world now though, The American people have been frightened into a state of near hysteria, and a lot of things that used to be safe are no longer allowed. Some people (and some people's kids) are going to die because they don't understand that.
