On average, two dozen children are shot every day in the United States, and in 2016 more youths were killed by gunfire — 1,637 — than during any previous year this millennium.

I'd like to see a breakdown of these statistics. Suicide? Gang? Domestic? Accident?

Let's not forget, they also classify anyone under age 21 as a child.

Not only an age breakdown, I'd like to see what circumstances were involved. I'm sure that number includes gang bangers in the hood! When you start adding in what happens in Chicago, Detroit, New York, Philly, Baltimore and DC, its easy to get to those numbers! Although I've heard Baltimore is getting safer now, its been over 11 days since they had a murder.

The Florida policemen that shot himself this week responding to one of the potential copycat calls in the same school district probably gets us up to 20 now.

They did include the police officer who was sitting in the bleachers in a MN school, where a kid pulled the trigger and the gun fired into the floor!

They now count people who back in the day were old enough to fight and die in a war as "children".
