You can be absolutely certain that Trump will do anything he has promised to do, when it is in his best interest to do so.

Trump does what's best for Trump, plain and simple.

Classic- how many of us would endure the assault Donald Trump is suffering to donate your salary and have your life disrupted. I am quite sure that without an overwhelming love for this country and his concern for The American people and our way of life, he would have told everyone to pound sand and go back to his life as a successful businessman. He doesn't need the job, unlike most of the Democrats running for 2020.

So running for President was best for Trump? Being attacked daily, putting his business dealings on hold, opening up his personal life, facing investigations and the like?

It's an ego boost for him. He was already the big dog in business, why not be King? I mean it's better than having Billary in office, but do you honestly think he's not leveraging for some sweet under the table future business deals when he leaves office?
I despised HRC, but I don't trust Trump either.

I have no doubt that he has plans to leverage his fame after this. That is what he does. That said I think he has, knowingly, put himself in quite a bit of unpleasantness that will hound him for the rest of his life. I am not thinking he did this just to enrich himself or for his ego.
