My guess is the muzzle rose from recoil, something probably made worse by the awkward mount.

Sooooooo, if the muzzle rose....he was shooting at something level or slightly downward? I've never shot skeet but have shot trap, and those skeet towers are pretty high up. Even the "low" tower is still a bit above level. I have no idea if this photo was "shopped" or not, but it sure does look fishy!
