Bullets used by British soldiers are too small to defeat Taliban fighters, according to a report of a study of ammunition used on the front line.

"A survey of servicemen who have fought in Iraq and Afghanistan concluded that the 5.56mm calibre rounds used by British soldiers 'tailed off' after 300 metres yet half of all firefights are fought between 300 and 900 metres. Taliban marksmen use powerful 7.62mm ammo for their AK47 machine guns..."

the taliban use powerful 7.62 ammo for their AK47 machine guns.

Not doubting that a 5.56 is not the premier long distance fighting round, but that sentence right there tells you the writer is unaware of the truth.

Are they sure the taliban was using 7.62X39?

Sounds like some stuff is wrong, but the general point of the article may be correct in saying the 5.56X 45 is ineffective in stopping the enemy at longer distances, and WHATEVER the enemy is using seems to be more effective.
Never mind the typos. My keyboard is full of beer, crumbs and Dr. Peper........and .........the typo and grammer police can go to........HE..!.....no...wait a minute......California!
