I've met a lot of unpleasant people in my life (JR wasn't one of them, at least not to me), but I don't recall ever reveling in anyone's death.

Wow.

Dave,

Like I said lets keep this in perspective.

Your choice of words is poor. The guy **** on a lot of people for years, and if you dont think he was unpleasant, wow is right. You cant expect everyone to feel the same way, and no one is "reveling" in this (well not openly). But lets not kid ourselves a lot of people for a lot of different reasons may feel some kind of relief that they haven't felt for years. That sense of relief isn't "wrong" it just is, and this doesn't surprise some.

Agreed; my choice of words was poor. However, "It's really no loss... just one less criminal in society" doesn't sit well with me.

I do understand that there is/was a lot of bad blood between Joel and many folks here.

ETA: Incidentally, the ST finally got around to covering the story, complete with the absolutely loathsome term "packing heat."

I didn't often agree with some of the things Joel did, or how he treated me in my days on his forum. That said, he was a father and a husband, and I personally take no joy in his death. I hope when I die people will remember me positively.
