What are the penalties (or penance) for violation?

Apparently, these signs, at least in the suing churches, have exactly as much punch as the real sign. Unfortunately, these signs also magically expand the ban to include the parking lot, even if you can't read the sign until you get to the door.

There are no extra penalties. This was an interpretation of existing law, not passing new law.

And, apparently, this new ruling only applies to Edina Community Lutheran Church and Unity Unitarian Church of St. Paul.

Practically, it may end up being applied to all churches.

Pragmatically, I don't believe anybody has yet been forced to pay the $25 trespass charge. (there may be one case pending). And, if you conceal your gun, concealed means concealed, nobody has to be the wiser.

There are some cryptic murmurings on the other forum between Prof. Joe Olson and Joel Rosenberg.

Oh wait, now that I re-read that thread; it has to do with an address change. I got confused in the midst of all the mysticism. So, I still think there has not been one $25 trespass ticket issued yet.

This story was in the pioneer press yesterday
