SAN ANTONIO -- Police searched the area around a south-side golf course, including a nearby shooting range, after they say a golfer was shot in the chest Sunday afternoon.

<snip>

"They heard what they claim bullets whizzing by them," Trujillo said.

The bullet was protruding halfway in the man's chest, police said. He was taken to SAMMC Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

I see now why no blue sky is such a big thing at ranges nowadays.
Nothing to see here. Continue swimming.

It sounds like the guy's going to be ok. That's probably the only good thing about this story. Including the odd/ambiguous quote by the police. Just how long was the bullet anyway? Are they sure it wasn't an arrow? :roll:

There is a lot of support for the idea that a golf course is a real waste of land that could be put to better use as a shooting range.

+1 I agree. It IS a corruption of a good wolk. Time that could be better spent at the range! :twisted:

“You can’t just have a rifle range and all of a sudden one (bullet) gets away and two weeks later another gets away, so it’s got to be someone taking shots at golfers,” Coleman speculated.
