Please get a flashlight if you have a gun and don't shoot at someone unless you can ID the target!

Where was the threat? It sounds like the girl was outside at the time. Calling 911 should be enough unless someone is smashing through the door.

Gives all of us a bad name...

She is expected to live, she wasn't shot in the neck according to channel 5. Torso area was hit, but still a tragic accident.

I just don't get it. Regardless of what is happening in your neighborhood, why the hell do you "shoot first, ask later?" Especially when that someone is outside your home.

Even in my home I would need to identify my target, but to just start shooting. Damn.

If I need to identify my target as a deer in November, I sure as hell better identity the human target I am about to kill.

I course I feel terrible for all involved, but damn it, it is the kind of stuff that the anti's feed off of.
