My prayers go out to this family. This is sad.

I really don't know what to say at this point. More fuel for the fire of the anti-gunners.

I literally missed this scene by 30 minutes. I live 3 blocks away and drove on 7th Street and Hadley to go to LA Fitness for a run on the treadmill. When I came back 30 minutes later, the whole area was cordoned off by police. Huge crime scene. All occurred within 2 blocks of Tartan High School.

I recall a date in time... 09-11-2001... This guy named Osama Bin Laden killed 3600 Americans, on american soil, without a gun! With box cutters, and air planes.

Wasn't the slogan "we will never forget" phrased alot after then? How soon our legislators and government seem to forget!

Maybe the "anti-gunners" need to be reminded that it's not guns! It's the people!

...yeah so he can plead insanity. So sad. There is something about psychos and their bullets finding little kids. It seems to happen more than adults are hit.
I remember a few years back a few streets down from where I lived, a gang did a drive-by on the wrong house and hit and killed a child who was being held by her uncle giving her a piggy-back ride. Its hard to understand why or how things like that can happen.

That's terrible.

Could be used as fuel for either side of the gun debate. Personally, more reason to be prepared and carry daily.

The anti gunners or people on the fence for "common sense" reform will lean more towards banning weapons. We've all said it, no one ever really listens, criminals and whack jobs that use guns in crimes will get a gun despite any ban or limitstions. Leaving everyone else to wait until the cops show up.. and considering what is going on in Cali I don't necessarily trust their aim or judgement. I'd rather be able to address and eliminate the threat if required.

I am happy he is alive. I find it cowardly for these criminals to take their own life before getting caught. Hopefully he will find his way to Stillwater.

I try to think of myself as not being any kind of vigilante, but in this case, I think we'd be better with his head bouncing off someone's fender, than the prospect of spending $1-2mil on him for the next 40 years.
My heart goes out to the victims' families.

It already has been used by the antis, as is evidenced by the bystander interviews they chose to show on WCCO's 10 o'clock news. Surprise, surprise.

This is sad.

I feel for the families and the victims, I grew up in Oakdale after age 12 when we moved there from the east side of St Paul, so I know the area, have been there, and I understand what it's like to live there. For the most part, Oakdale is a calm place without much of anything in the way of problems, not so anymore.

This is also why I carry.

Our society has degraded to where craziness such as random shootings, people high on synthetic drugs are eating the face off of other people, and whatever else you can think of even remotely happening.....actually happens. It wouldn't surprise me if pizza-loving space aliens decided to land and raid strip clubs to attack and kidnap our strippers to take back to their planet to work as slaves in their pot farms.

Crazy? Yes.

Do I think that could actually happen? No.

Would it surprise me in the least if it ever did? Not at all.

I'm beyond jaded. I'm beyond being shocked. It's just another day on Earth to me now. Same thing when I see some 20-something kid died in Afghanistan and he was from Minnesota so uit makes the local news. Sad? Yes it is, but wait a few weeks and there will be another news story about another one, and another one, and another one and..... you get the idea. It's also sad that I am this way, but after the 100th time, you just develop a thick skin. That't saying I'm not sorry for people and don't care, I do, but I'm just used to it now. I think we all are.

This news story will pass and there will be another shooting, someone kills someone with a razor blade, a baseball bat, a toenail clipper, some such thing, and then that will be the focus of the minute until it fades from memory and the next thing comes along and so on and so on and so on. That's life.

I figured the antis would use this since they can't let a good tragedy go to waste, right?

I also saw on the news about a guy who killed another man with a hammer. I'm sure there will be "Hammer Control" legislation introduced. Then again, I'm still waiting for the "Pocket Ban" of high-capacity pockets because of that kid they caught who did a spree killing with a shotgun and he had 20 rounds of ammo in his pocket.

My sympathies to the families and the victims. I don't mean to be callous, it's sad, it's life-changing, it touches many lives, but that's life in this crazy world. I'm sure it would affect me differently if I was shot or knew someone that was, no doubt. Heck, even if I was there and nothing happened to me, of course.... but the one thing that wouldn't change is the fact that this is just how it is now. This is also why I say it's not a gun problem, it's a people problem. Until we fix that, this will never stop. I know for me, I need to find my way back to not be so beyond jaded, so accepting of this as the way it is, but I think I've done that as a protective measure or else I'd be a sobbing mess. So yes, in a way, I'm part of the problem too.

Crazy. I go out that way to get my hair cut. Cavalier barber stylists. Guy named frank is the owner/former Marine and the only civilian barber I know that can pull off a mil spec fade. Guess I'll carry next time I need a trim.

Why does it seem that the whack jobs are conveniently acting out in order to push legislation as if they are martyrs for their cause? My prayers go out to the woman. Vengeance will be left to a higher power.
