The live feed is still up. I've been listening to it since about 8. The reporter who broadcast from the firefight today said that Dorner had a suppressed weapon.

Nope, they keep saying it is "highly likely" that it was his body. The identity of the body has not yet been confirmed.

It looks like the cabin is still burning.
There does not look like there is any effort to douse the flames to preserve any evidence in it.
The house is too hot to go in to search for and recover a body.
They are waiting for the flames to die down, instead of squirting some water on it?

I've only been hearing bit and pieces of the story all night. That they didn't put out the fire when it was obvious no one was alive has me curious as well. The only reasonable reason I could think of was a fear of approaching due to possible booby-traps.

I was thinking more of the area/ perimeter being rigged. I haven't been able to watch, so I have no real image of the scene, or how close they got to the fire.
I don't dismiss your suspicions, or speculations.

Well, the police fired 7 hot smoke grenades in to the building, so I do not think they would put any effort to preserve evidence, or allow the offender the chance at a trial by his peers.

It was quite evident what the plan was, when the police where reporting on how far the fire has spread, and not to have fire put it out until the building collapsed and the basement burned out.

I hope they got the right guy this time. Their track record to this point hasn't exactly been stellar.
