Confiscation has begun in Connecticut.

Postby Randygmn on Thu Feb 27, 2014 1:55 am

This is why I live by the motto "not one more inch". Any time a gun grabber mentions "common sense, reasonable gun control", the only valid response is "f@ck you".

http://www.guns.com/2014/02/26/ct-misse ... te-police/

"In Connecticut those gun owners who tried and failed to get their magazines and rifles registered in time are now finding letters in their mailbox from the state police, wanting their guns.

According to the Journal Inquirer, 106 rifle owners and 108 ‘large capacity magazine’ owners in Connecticut were recently sent letters from the state police advising them that they had missed the deadline for registering their now-illicit firearms and accessories."

Those that continue to insist on the destruction of the Constitution and our freedoms need to be targeted. They should be held accountable. Tarred and feathered, or worse, if necessary. The 2nd amendment was written specifically to ward of tyranny. It has arrived.

End rant (and yes, I'm hot :angryvillagers: )

My guess is that anyone who tried to register their weapons and magazines will probably wimp out and get rid of them. The people saying "f*** you" didn't bother.

Quite possibly, but the fact that the authorities are capitalizing on the first opportunity to confiscate should be something that all gun owners nationwide are made aware of. The irony here is that this is happening to the ones that actually attempted to comply and now are being punished for it.

This should put to rest the disengenous lie that the grabbers tell that they don't want anyone to give up their guns. We don't fall for the BS, but many people that are less informed do. This should be a poster child case that the NRA and other gun rights groups widely publicizes.

Anytime registration is proposed in the future and the other side says we are delusional and paranoid, we need to recall Connecticut's current situation.

I don't like this new policy of punishing people for others actions.

I know its a dumb question but do we have any way to do anything about stuff like this and obamacare?

in highschool my history teacher made it sound like there was, I think? like repealing laws people didn't vote on or something ? they can't pass laws that violate something or something?

more incorrect response - I don't know about a sanctuary but I heard somewhere theres some kind of special camps set up :?

The people of CT have voted overwhelmingly to support this.

In 2008 the State of CT voted almost 70% for Obama.

The people of CT have spoken and they want this law. Let em have it.

Who are we as "outsiders" to say they cannot have what they want.

Just because a few gun owners had their head to far up their own ass they didn't realize that voting does indeed have consequences and now they are F-ed, doesn't mean the rest of the country should spend time, money and resources trying to fix a problem most CT citizens do not want fixed. Let em swim in their own political swill.

I see your point but what about the 30% that do not want it. This is tyranny of the majority. I could see it happening in this state with the fragile balance that exists. Don't let the "out-state pro gun" DFL'ers fool you. They will turn on us fast.

discrimination against minorities?

imagine the whiplash if it was a campaign (propaganda) against a different group of minority that called attention to the actions of a tiny percentage of them [edit:I should have said because of what one kid did with a thing similar to what they own completely unrelated to what they do with theirs] to get laws passed restricting their rights?

it would never happen because they are people too and the actions of just some of their group don't apply to all of them.

I don't see how this can be happening.

(Legal) gun owners are a minority in most States aren't they? I understand that if you included all gun owners like the statistics used to get laws passed against the legal owers you might get more than 50% then, but thats completely irrelevant as the criminals would vote to disarm legal owners regardless.

The State of Connecticut says that all citizens must register rifles and high capacity magazines, or be charged will a felony. As many as 100,000 people could face heavily armed police smashing down their doors and be charged with a felony.

The legislature of CT says that a registration is needed so they can know where the guns are. Yet at the same time, they are sending threatening letters to gun owners. So they already have records of who has purchased certain guns. The fact is, that the CT legislature fully intends to confiscate hundreds of thousands of firearms anyway. The registration process will simply make it easier to confiscate, because you acknowledge that you still own a firearm that the state already suspects that you own.

CT State Police Spokesman Lt. Vance says that state police would comply with an order from the state to conduct door to door gun confiscations.

Experts claim that as many as 350,000 people are in violation of the law, and over 100,000 of those people could face felony charges. That means over 3.6% of the entire adult population of Connecticut has been transformed into a felon by the new registration law. Roughly one in twenty Connecticut homes could have their doors smashed in by heavily armed law enforcement seeking to confiscate firearms.

CT State Police Spokesman Lt. Vance can be reached at at (860) 685-8290

Oh, don't kid yourself, it's going to happen here.

...and the DFL loving rednecks in NE MN are going to make sure it happens. They are to stupid to know what a DFL( Socialist) even is. Think NOLAN, Franken, Goofy.

Helping the Citizens of CT with protests and financial contributions to fight these laws are A-Kin to enabling a child.

The child keeps making the same mistakes over and over, each and every time his/her parents bail the child out and fix the mess. The same is with CT, vote Democrat, vote anti-gun Legislation then cry for help. Once the problem is solved by others, they go right back to the voting booth and start this [bleep] allover again.

A Liberal will never learn, never.

BTW, how many gun owners in CT and how many members of the NRA. If you haven't heard, there are more than a few CT citizens crying for the NRA to fix their mess. Same here in MN.

theres only ten states that have more than 50% rates of gun ownership. how are gun owners supposed to vote in pro gun representatives if they are the minority in the population? 16.7% in Connecticut so really what could they do up against the 'NEWS'?

and we are also the minority nationwide so...? if it can be blamed on voting or lawmakers being allowed to decide its inevitable like you say, the thing is I'm pretty sure its just illegal for executive actions or voting or whatever the #### to just repeal constitutional law or something but I'm not a lawyer so what do I know?

I don't think you can blame the people who live there and want to keep their guns and not jump through hoops for being lazy and ''letting this happen'' at all. they are outnumbered when it comes down to a vote.

Where they gain their traction is with the hunters by using these two phrases, among others:
1. Who needs 30 rounds of ammunition to kill a deer?
2. Who needs a .44 magnum to put a hole in a piece of paper?
They don't realize that the semiautomatic rifle and handgun people are what stands between them and the legislature. I don't trust these "out state" DFL'ers a bit. And Steve, I will add Tom Bakk to your list.
