Carry Responsibly. Why leave? Take responsibility for what happened. Unless you don't have your permit?

...was carrying a gun in his waistband....

If you don't have a permit, or your gun is hot, or you are up to no good, and may have to ditch the weapon, you damn sure don't want a holster giving you away.

Seems likely it's a permit holder and he should have stayed and taken responsibility. And frankly seems kind of dumb that he didn't. Targets usually have tons of surveillance cams. So, guessing they will identify him eventually. If he used a credit card to pay, they'll identify him from the surveillance vid.

"Seems likely its a permit holder..."

Seems far more likely it's not - don't rush to judgment.

The guy is certainly going to be apprehended. We'll know soon enough.

If it is a permit holder, we will hear about it, since the MSM will have a meltdown. If it is just another Thug-with-gun, it will get buried on a back page somewhere, since they wouldn't want to remind the public that there might be a valid reason for legally carrying.

hard to understand how anyone would feel good about "Plexico Burris" style carry. Almost impossible to waistband carry and maintain any real control- foolish at best.

From their comments, it could be that they were just passing through and could be from anywhere - I don't think you can count on them being apprehended without a license plate, credit card purchase or a tip from someone. Permit holder or not - it makes the entire gun owning community look bad - even worse when there is no opportunity to get questions answered to find out just how much of a dim wit this guy really is. The general assumption will be that this form of carry is common - yet another reason to enact "common sense" gun control laws. This certainly qualifies as a lack of Common Sense.................

So, it kind of sounds like it might not have discharged when hitting the floor, but rather when he tried to recover it from slipping down the inside of his pants.

Basic hand gun safety, if you drop the gun, let it fall, then pick it up. Grabbing for a moving gun is an accident looking for a place to happen. It may put a scratch on the gun, but you lower the odds of shooting someone drastically. A properly functional firearm should not discharge from a drop. Now stick you finger on the trigger as its dropping and it does have a tendency to go bang.

I think the oddsmakers would say this was not a legal carry.
