Next court date is May 30th, when jury selection will begin.

A few weeks ago, a motion to dismiss the charges was denied. Today Yanez entered a plea of not guilty; he is charged with Second-Degree Manslaughter and 2 counts of Dangerous Weapons.

And in 2 years, we should see the DOJ's office of Community Orientated Policing Services publish their audit of the St. Anthony PD. Cue Jeopardy music.

Diamond Reynolds got arrested for aggravated assault with a hammer. There goes the entire case for the prosecution.

Did she upload the arrest to YouTube?

Doubt it. Would think it'll be pretty easy for any prosecutor to have that barred from being introduced as evidence because it's not relevant to the Castile shooting itself.

I agree.

You think there's a potential juror who has yet to hear of her arrest?

It might not be difficult to find a juror that hasn't been following her case. The amount of media attention will dictate the venue for the trial. It may not be a big story everywhere.

Hope she has to take the witness stand in shackles and a jump suit...

After 13+ hours, the jury is deadlocked. Judge sent them back to deliberate more with these instructions:

Is that how it normally works? In a deadlock situation.

I don't see how this could have possibly been a justified shooting, unless Castile did something astoundingly stupid.

Unfortunately, we only have an unreliable witness's testimony that he didn't.
