Unfortunately, my permit expires in April 2019. So I'm one of the ones that will have to deal with a NICS check for every purchase for the next 2 years. Fortunately I've never had a problem, but it's still kind of a pain.

IIRC mine's a 2018 expiration date, so while I don't get the benefit right away, at least I get to "fix" it sooner.

I doubt any of the big box stores will bother with this. Unless they have a really compelling reason they won't want to spend the time/money modifying their computer systems.

I picked up a transferred handgun at the Burnsville Pistol Range on Saturday. Even with my one month old Carry Permit he still ran me through the NICS.

What's the big deal about a dealer doing a background check? It takes about 5 to 10 minutes on the phone with NICIS.

It is a big deal if you get delayed every freaking time with explanation as to why. I've quit going to gun shows all together, because every time I do find a deal, I get delayed on the damn NIC's check.
