Routine arrest leads Minneapolis police to arsenal

How can having a live grenade in your car, only get one charged with a misdemeanor? I suppose that since Minneapolis is a "sanctuary city", they did not call any Federal agencies for assistance.

I have to believe there are more charges coming if that was a functional grenade.

The grenade was inert

But taken as a whole, I'm confident the FBI is now involved and maybe we'll learn more. This is the second weapons violation for Al Rifahe, he was arrested for the same thing a year ago

No comment section for this article I see. I guess the Liberal Terrorists™ will continue to enable Abdullah and his friends in their criminal escapades.

So what makes this arrest routine? Lost of folks arrested these days with play grenades waiting on drone delivered packages?

I would be curious to know more about this man and his associates - what is their "status" and more importantly are they going to be passed over because of some sort of CAIR protest only to commit some heinous act a year from now. It has been mentioned that he may have been under investigation before for weapons issues.

The question we as lawful gun owners and proponents of the absolute right to Keep and Bear Arms - is how far are we willing to go to defend every citizen that right. If this individual is not a citizen, then this is a completely different discussion. Definitely fits in the "suspicious activities" column.

Are the 2A rights viewed the same as the 1A rights - should they?

Seeing this is the "strib" I wonder what "arsenal and assault weapons" actually ended up being....perhaps a 10/22 and a brick of .22LR?? :o

Prior history

Arrested was 24-year-old Abdullah Nassie Alrifahe. Ramsey County Law Enforcement is charging Alrifahe with Receiving Stolen Property Moundsview, but Abdullah is presumed innocent until proven guilty.

I wonder was the grenade actually a live grenade or a training dummy, flash bang, or oc/cs throw canister? Someone posted above it was inert but I see no reference to that in the "article"

It wasn't in the article, but I've been told it was a paperweight dummy grenade

The whole drone thing doesn't make any sense. Even IF a company like Amazon were actually delivering for real with a drone they certainly wouldn't be delivering to a car, it would be to a property. Amazon isn't live with this yet and I doubt anybody else is. So what does that leave? Someone manually piloting a drone to 'deliver' something? That requires line-of-sight or at least relatively close proximity with FPV so why wouldn't you just go over and give it to them? Again, this just doesn't make sense.

Some possibilities:
- testing drone technology for transportation of weapons into secured areas.
-picking up and dropping munitions or bombs.
-testing the effective range of - non line of site operation of the drone in an urban environment.
