Seems officer oblivious was working and there’s something up with that holster.

Color me skeptical. How exactly does one, let alone a third grader, get their finger on the trigger of a pistol secured in a level 3 holster?

I would assume quite carelessly.

I saw a different article which claimed the small size of the child's finger let them reach in. However that simply means it was a really poorly designed holster. If a child's finger could get in there then so could a twig as you are walking through the woods. Would not be my first choice of holster. Will be curious if we find out exactly what holster he was wearing.

Makes me wonder if the pistol and holster were matched? Or was an older holster used with a newer model because “it fit”?

I can’t think of any of my holsters that would allow this without pulling the firearm out some.

I suspect the officer had a "I'm the only one professional enough" moment and this is the excuse (cover story) they came up with.

Lucky, no one was injured.

To be fair, when it involves an elementary school child, he should be the one professional enough, just saying...

*SHOULD*... But meat-head elite operators can be meat-heads. Especially when they are acting cool in front of a bunch of kids.
